Prior to founding The Project Management Group co, Ali was the San Diego, California regional project manager for the Westfield Group, the World’s largest listed retail property developer. Ali managed several shopping center development projects including University Town Center (UTC), one of the Westfield’s largest United State project consist of two million square foot of mix use retail redevelopment. Ali managed the overall project execution including scope determination, RFP and bid documents, selection and management of the project team, budget formulation, consultant fee agreement and negotiations, change order negotiations, review of lease language relative to base building criteria and monitoring the project activates to ensure completion of each phase on time and on budget. Ali led the value engineering process during the design phase to ensure execution of substantial cost saving ideas to align the project cost with the global budget. Ali managed and participated in the LEED ND (Neighborhood Development) with the Westfield staff and outside consultant to obtain the qualification and approval of the LEED ND pilot program. Ali also managed the Westfield consultant during the application and documentation preparation and submittal process. With Ali’s dedication, persistence and hard work, Westfield was able to obtain approval at the gold level.
